Liza C. Wu MD, MBA, FACS
Dr. Liza Wu is a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon. Her education and training reflects a tradition of excellence having completed her undergraduate studies at Stanford, her medical education and training at the University of Chicago, followed by a microsurgery fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center. In 2006, she was recruited to University of Pennsylvania and achieved early promotion to Professor of Surgery and became the Director of Microsurgery. In 2016, she completed a breast surgical oncology fellowship at PENN, making her one of the only surgeons in the United States that performs both the surgical management of breast cancer as well as the reconstruction of the post-oncologic defects. In addition, her skills as a surgeon and microsurgeon has made her one of the most recognized experts in breast surgery. As a result, her clinical expertise has become nationally and internationally recognized with over hundreds of publications, invited lectures, and accolades including being the first female ASRM Marko Godina Visiting Professor in 2017. Her goals going forward are to provide comprehensive care to all patients seeking surgery to improve their appearance and lives and provide leadership in the realm of plastic surgery.
